Are You a Computer Addict?

Are you on the computer everyday? Do you spend all of your personal time on the computer? Is your spouse and family jealous of the computer? Does your spouse and/or family threaten to get rid of your computer? If you answer yes to these questions than guess what! You are a computer addict. So, what do you do now?

First, admit that you have a problem. I find that some people deny that they have a problem for a long time. And, it's not until problems arise that they finally realize it.

Why are you addicted to the computer? Are you avoiding someone or something going on in your life? Are you a loner and only talk to people on line for conversation? Are you bound by a social network? Are others sending daily emails or blogging on your site which will make it necessary for you to be on the computer daily. Ask yourself those questions? There may be more than one reason for your addiction to the computer.

Now that you know the reason(s) for your computer addiction, you can begin to decrease your addition.

Tips to help you with your addiction.
Get outside - take short walks more often.
Find a new hobby - pick something that you can do with your loved ones.
Spend more time with your family - do not use their computer when you are there.
Limit your computer use - make a time limit and stick by it.
Face issues that have caused you to spend time on the computer in the first place.
Join a club or social group - obviously, not on line
Hang out with real humans.

Those are just a few tips that may help you curb your addition to the computer. Just remember, there are people who need you in the real world and on a daily basis.
