Are Cruise and Holmes Falling Apart?

Last November 18, 2006, blue-eyed 44 year old Tom Cruise and lovely brown haired, movie star, Katy Holmes were wed in a fairy-tale wedding. The couple drew the world's attention as cameras flashed capturing the beautiful, obviously in love, couple. Fairytales are always centered around a castle and this couples story was no different. They were united in marriage in Italy at the historic Odescalchi Castle. The bride and groom wore Versaci and all was joyful. The vows were witnessed by their little daughter Suri who has her father's blue eyes and her mother's dark hair, and a hundred and fifty close friends and family members. The couple were also legally married in Los Angeles, California.

There has been much speculation about whether or not this marriage seeminly made in heaven would survive. There have been rumors of Tom's controlling ways and Katy's young age. Tabloids are claiming that all may not be what it seems in paradise. Rumors of Tom threatening to take away Katy's credit cards and monitoring her phone calls abound.There are also accusations that Cruise is micro-managing his wife's career, including her impending return to work on the new movie, "Mad Money." The movie is being filmed in Louisiana where Cruise will visit to watch his wife work.

Holmes and Cruise had their first date on his private jet where the two feasted on Sushi. Not long after that date Cruise appeared on national T.V. where he enthusiastically jumped up and down on Oprah Winfrey's sofa announcing to the world that he was in love with Holmes. Miss Holmes changed her Catholic beliefs to become a Scientologist. Cruise is outspoken in his promotion of his Scientology beliefs. The Church of Scientology was founded by the late L. Ron Hubbard. Cruise has been widely criticized for his sharp comments about actress Brooke Shields reported depression after giving birth. The two have since reconcilled. Shields attended the Cruise-Holmes wedding.

Katy Holmes was born Toledo, Ohio. She starred in T. V.'s Dawson Creek from 1998 through 2003. Miss Holmes has also starred in various movies such as 'Pieces of April', 'The Gift' and 'Batman Returns'. She had been engaged to actor, 'American Pie's,' Cris Klein. They were together for five years. Holmes met Cruise in April of 2005. Tom Cruise proposed to Homes atop of the Eiffel Tower.

Tom Cruise was born in Syracuse, New York on July 3, 1962. Cruise had his 'breakout movie' in 1983, when he was starred in "Risky Business." He has also starred in movies such as "The Color of Money" 1986 and in the 1988 hit movie "Rain-Man" about an Autistic man and his relationship with his long lost brother. Cruise has also starred in his 1989 hit about the Vietnam War, in 'Born on the 4th of July' He has made other movies such as the 'Mission Impossible' series and 'War of the Worlds'. Cruise won a best actor nomination for his role in 'Born on the 4th of July.' Cruise has had a lull in his career in the last couple of years with people speculating that his lack of work revolved around his comments to Shields and others and his involvment in promoting his Scientology beliefs.

Tom Cruise was married briefly to actress Mimi Rogers. Cruise then married actress Nicole Kidman. Cruise and Kidman were married for more than a decade from 1990 through 2001. Kidman and Cruise share custody of their adopted children, Isabella born in 1992 and son, Connor who was born in 1995.

Holmes and Cruise are good friends with British born, ex-Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham and her husband soccer-star, David Beckham. The Beckhams attended the Holmes- Cruise wedding, and are currently living in Los Angeles, California where the soccer-star will play for the L.A. Galaxy team.
