If you suffer from acne you might think getting a facial can do nothing but help the situation. However with the wrong ingredients a facial, which keeps the treatment on the skin for along period of time to ensure that it gets deep down in the pores, can actually cause acne to worsen. If you are prone to acne but really enjoy a good relaxing facial there are several natural ingredients that are good for treating acne which won't irritate sensitive skin. You can read the labels and purchase natural facials, or make your own.

Good Ingredients
Natural products such as honey, oatmeal, fruit and vegetable extracts can soothe your acne and help absorb impurities while moisturizing without clogging pores. Burt's Bees makes all natural facial products that are helpful in treating acne, they are not very expensive and can be found in most drugstores.

Bad Ingredients
Chemical compositions for deep cleansing including alcohol, heavy oil and harsh scrubs are bad for acne. The can irritate already tender skin further causing redness and burning. Some even contribute to clogged pores causing more breakouts. Remember that a facial is supposed to be a luxury for your skin, not a harsh scrubbing event.

Happy Medium
Cleansing is important for acne sufferers so use a gentle natural cleanser with an exfoliant to slough off dead skin cells before applying a natural nourishing facial that will treat the acne and give your face a cool soothing therapy.

Acne Treating Facial Recipe
2 Tablespoons of honey
½ teaspoon of tea tree oil
1 Tablespoon of finely ground oatmeal
½ avocado- peeled

Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mash them together, making sure that all the items get mixed together well leaving you with a creamy product to apply to your face. Massage the product into your skin liberally, and leave it on for about half an hour. Rinse with warm water followed by a cold water splash. You will be surprised at how good your skin feels, the acne breakouts won't be sore, or irritated.

Repeat this process at least once a week and you will notice that your whole face looks and feels better, and breakouts are noticeably reduced.

That is very helpful. I consider tea tree oil to be the modern day snake oil.

What's "tea tree oil?" Sounds like something I'd like to try, but is something you can sub for the avacado?
