Are Fairies, Wizards and Other Supernatural Beings Real?

We probably all remember the famous song in the Wizard of Oz, "We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz!" This could very well be the theme song for many of the young people of today. Instead of believing in God, they believe in wizards, fairies, elves, vampires, and many other fantasy creatures. I think its ironic how God and the Bible are called fantasy, yet wizards, fairies, elves, and even vampires, are treated as if they're real. I wasn't aware that proof, like artifacts, remains, or maybe even DNA, had been found of their existence. After all, these are all things they demand for proof of God's existence.

There actually is scientific proof for what's written in the Bible, although many skeptics choose to dispute it. As unbelievable as a lot of what's in the Bible may seem to be, (like the parting of the Red Sea) there have actually been discoveries of ancient skeletal remains, chariot wheels and other artifacts found at the bottom of the Red Sea. (See Parting of the Red Sea)
Naturally, this has been disputed by many sources, including the online website TruthOrFiction.com, but this is to be expected. People need to dispute things in order to prove their own point, which I'm actually doing myself in this article.

The fact still remains; there are actual, physical relics in existence today proving the Bible, but none that I know of proving the existence of wizards or fairies. Christians often get ridiculed for believing in "something they can't see," yet a lot of credence is given to fairies, wizards, and other kinds of imaginary creatures. I just don't get it. Maybe it's just that we all have a need to believe in something. I'd much rather believe in something that has actual value (and proof.)

I used to believe in fairies, elves, and wizards when I was a child. I think all children did; it was all a part of growing up. We even believed in Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus, but I don't hear much about them being made into gods, like fairies, wizards, and other creatures have been made into. Why not? They were as much a part of our childhood beliefs as fairies and elves were. What I do know for a fact is, there came a time when we were all shocked to find out that the wizard in "The Wizard of Oz" was actually just a little man hiding behind a curtain, pretending to be some kind of all-knowing and all-powerful entity. What a dash to all our hopes that was! He was just a feeble little man, probably with a squeaky voice, who no one would have ever even noticed on the street.

These days life seems to be all about building up our own egos and convincing ourselves we control the universe. Maybe we all have this desire to believe that even a small, insignificant person can hide behind a curtain and become a powerful super-being. I guess it's easier to believe in something like that than to accept the fact that we're just not all that. When it comes to my own life, I have to admit there are limits to what I can do and, when I need help, I'm certainly not going to seek out a fairy or set off to see the wizard.
