Are God and the Source the Same Thing?

Adrienne D. Poole
As I get older I find myself seeking answers to the meaning of life, I don't know if this is attributed to the thought of death and my own mortality or just looking for meaning in an otherwise materialistic world. I have come across a lot of books about "The Source" as opposed to what we normally refer to as "God."

At a young age I attended church with my grandmother, and listened to the sermons the minister would shout out form the pulpit, trying to grasp the thunder and conviction as he told the congregation about sins and the consequences of sin. I generally would feel a little peace after the sermon but soon after would be back to my "devilish ways." I am now approaching my fortieth year on the earth and find myself leaning more towards a metaphysical interpretation of God and the meaning of life. I am now reading a book that leans more towards the power of the conscious mind as opposed to the unconscious mind. Consciousness as an awareness of your inner being, not the ego which is the thought driven self. The more I study these concepts the more I feel in tune with what life actually is about. A study of the universe and how we are all created from the universe and how the very thing that formed and created that universe is in all of us.

This may be a stretch of the imagination for some, but being a part of something as large and vast as the universe makes me feel whole and complete. Not separate from everyone and everything. I like the idea of being a part of the Source, the source meaning the starting place of life. In the past I had a vision of God as being a separate entity apart from myself, as something or someone in judgment of all of my actions, good or bad, in essence trying to live my entire life trying to maintain a perfection that is unattainable.

If we view God as the Source of all creation that means we are of the source and not separate from it, meaning we are perfection and were meant to be what we are in this very moment. If the universe was created from what we see as chaos, but formed every living and non-living thing on earth how can we be a mistake or wrong?

From a religious standpoint you are either right or wrong, if you are a part of one religion and not another you will be considered wrong or right depending on which side of the fence you are on. As I am writing this I am sure there will be some readers thinking I am completely wrong in my musings, that there is only God not to be confused with the Source or the universe, and you cannot be the same as God.

I prefer to believe we go back to the stars and dust that created us, and at that level of consciousness we will remember that we are all one people, one mind, and the only thing that separates us is the thought that we are different, in other words our thought driven ego. As we all know the ego has created many terrible things in our history here on our planet, but this is just my opinion. It is just another open line of communication in search of knowing what is unknown.
