Then I noticed my cat, Scamper, and so I asked him, "Are you the guilty party?" He just stood there looking at me with his wide innocent eyes and powder on his nose. Yes, he was the guilty party; the proof was self-evident. So I just scooped him up in my arms, held him to my breast, and put him in his time-out room so I could clean-up and eat breakfast in peace.
I won't write a long, boring sermon here, but I'll ask you this question: Are you a guilty party? Do you carry around unconfessed, unforgiven sin? Then tell it to Jesus, and He will scoop you up in His arms and hold you to His breast. And after that he will clean up your mess.
I know. I've been the guilty party before.

Post a CommentJust as Scamper was guilty, so are we all.
Oh, there's nothing cutter than a pet with a guilty expression.
How I love your consciousness of spiritual matters; but I had to stop almost right away into the article and comment to let you know Jesus said tell it (unconfessed sin, unforgiven sin) the Father. It's the Father whom Jesus said to go to in prayer, even Jesus prayed to the Father. Now the Father has given Jesus much power over sin, but nothing has changed when it comes to who you're supossed to go to in prayer, even a confessional prayer: God the Father, not Jesus. best to you.
What a friend we have in Jesus! This is just great, Shirley!
I love your comparison
Loved the comparison. Precise but so powerful.
Good comparison.
Lovely analogy Shirley.
If anyone says they are not the 'guilty' party, I would beg to differ. We are all guilty and have fallen short of His glory! Great comparison here!
Comforting words.
