First of all, what does it mean to be happy? Is it short lived or does it last forever? What must we do or get to be happy? Or, is it something that resides in each one of us but is for some reason untapped?
There are different ways to be happy. Some of us are happy because our life is good and we are not wanting of anything else. Good for you. Then, there are others who are happy just because their loved ones are happy and well taken care of. Your loved ones are blessed to have you in their lives but what about your happiness?
Did you answer no to that question? You may be experiencing situations that are impeding your happiness. Health, relationships and finances are three major areas that can temporarily or permanently cause you to be unhappy if they are not up to optimum levels.
Are you the great pretender? Do you show everyone a happy face and positive attitude but deep inside you are not happy. Maybe no one will ever notice or maybe someone will someday. Don't ignore those feelings of unhappiness. You deserve to be happy.
Life happens! Sickness, divorce and bankruptcy are some of the major causes of unhappiness. Some things can be improved so that we can be more happy. End unhealthy relationships. Get a better job. Exercise and eat healthy. Find something to believe in for your mind and spirit. The list goes on.
For those of you that are experiencing a terminal sickness there isn't much to be happy about. Your happiness, if any, is small and far between. If you have a loved one who is experiencing a terminal sickness maybe you should ask them what will make them more happy other than the obvious. Can you spend more time with them? Find ways to make them more comfortable? Be a caring and supporting person that he/she needs. And, most of all, be there when they need you most. I'm sure those things can cause a little happiness.
Happiness, it all depends on where you are in life. Did you recover from the things that made you unhappy? The bottom line is if you answered no to the question than you owe it to yourself to at least try to change your life to be more happy. Everyone deserves to be happy even if it will be for a little while.
