Are You Having Suicidal Thoughts ? Solutions, Ways to Cope, and Ideas for Making it Through the Hardship

Oodles

Life is such an amazing journey. The diverse people we meet, the strange experiences we go through, and every unique day. Even if you live the most dull and repetitive life, tomorrow something wonderful might happen.Who knows? Maybe you will find a crispy Benjamin on the ground, and with that moolah invest in a lucrative new career.

But sometimes people go through terrible pain. Or sometimes people lose their iPhone and for whatever reason think their life is done. Life is just like that - there are diseases and heartbreaks and heart-attacks and heart-aches. Look on the bright side though! At least you're not a salmon swimming into a bear's wide-open mouth.

You know the saying, "Live a little!", right ? That's what I want to impart to anyone reading this that is depressed and thinking of committing suicide. You've obviously been through pain before, yes? Nobody over age 10 has been pain-free. So you have a few bruises already. You're tougher than you think!

People sometimes commit suicide because of depression. If you are depressed, get help - and don't be discouraged if it takes some time to find the right help. Counseling and/or medicines - all are great techniques to overcoming this. Modern medicines like Lexapro, Xanax, and Prozac do work. That said, don't underestimate simple things like exercise, phoning relatives, and volunteering.

Living healthier can also help you greatly. And in contrast, being unhealthy makes you feel lousy! Looking and feeling great may make a big difference. Start small, baby steps are important steps! Remember the old Chinese proverb of a single step leading to 1000 miles! If you or someone you know is feeling suicidal, the following ideas may help:

There is Always Hope

It's so true - as long as you are breathing there is hope! Hope will help you cope! One of the big reasons Obama won is he gave us a hopeful message. Think of it this way - the greater the struggle, the greater the joy and honor in overcoming said hardship.

Even if things appear totally hopeless, try moving to a different country or city or even apartment! Change can often help you feel better. So don't be afraid of change!

Back to Basics

Grab a pencil and write it all out. Don't be shy at all! Just that simple act. Here's an exercise, write a list of all the people who would be affected by this if you did it. Make a list of the good things they have done for you.

Busy Bees

Here is a strange fact - suicide is less prevalent in poorer countries. The country with the highest rate of suicide is Lithuania(but please don't spread this information, just in case!), not a poor place(but with vast unemployment). You'd think that people in the poorest places would be the most suicidal, but no. They're farming and selling and scrabbling. They have hardly a moment to contemplate suicide.

Another point is to reach out to your family - you surely have uncles and aunts or someone! Even orphans have extended relatives. And family, generally speaking, will not embarrass you or spread personal information.

The Squeaky Wheel

I'm sure you've heard this quote before - and it is so true. If you lay quiet and sulk in a closet, of course we won't hear you. We are all busy with our day-to-day affairs, and often we may give people the benefit of the doubt.
