Are Jon and Kate Gosselin Great Parents or Great Actors?

Allen Bell
What are you saying man...have you gone mad? No, I have not gone mad but I am mad that people look at these two parents and say...ahhh what great parents. Come on people they are destroying these children right before your eyes every week. Wake up they are in it for the ....hold on...wait for it...MONEY. The show Jon and Kate plus Eight is TLC's highest rated show. A record 9.8 million viewers viewed the premiere of season five. What I cannot understand is why when Nadya Suleman (the octo-mom) sprang on the scene everyone was pointing fingers at her saying she was exploiting her children for money but 9.8 million viewers tune in to Jon and Kate and that is different. No it is not different it is the same.

These poor Gosselin children, I guess I should not say poor since if their parents put way money for them as the law requires they will be filthy rich, what I mean is though these children do not have the option to say "Hey mom I don't want to be on television anymore. I am sure if one of them did, Kate would flip her reverse mullet hair thing. Just imagine for a minute taking into mind how uptight Kate is on the show about how the kids look, what they say, etc. Can you imagine what it must be like for those kids to try to be kids with cameras and lights around almost all the time?

Whom do we blame for this? Jon? Kate? TLC? Well yes to a certain degree, but much blame belongs to the public for supporting this show by watching it. Now I now there are a lot of die hard fans and there are a equal amount of people that just watch to see Kate "wig out" (yes a play on words), each episode and yell at Jon. Now everyone is watching the show because of rumors of infidelity...hey that is a great environment for the kids' right.

What it comes down to are the kids. I mean you only get one childhood. Money is good things do not get me wrong. I mean they can have their college tuition paid for and lots of other things. The real question would be at what cost? I just hope we do not start seeing a huge number of couples getting fertility treatment trying to have more and more kids so they can jump on the reality television gravy train.

When the show first aired, I thought it was a good show. Now since I have been watching, I believe the show is nothing about the children. The show now is all about Kate and what Kate wants. She is the star who wants to be the center of attention. She wants to wear the pants in the family. She has gone from a plain looking mother to a tummy tuck, breast enlargement, and husband abuser right before our eyes. The show has gone to Kate's head and has turned into a monster. If Jon did have an affair, I don't blame him.

I no longer watch the show because it has gotten so out of control. The show is no longer about the children. At this point I don't believe the children even want to do a show. How can a child be normal around the house when camermen are all over the house.

Kate is on camera all the time with her bitchy attitude. She wants to be looked at as a good mother but who is a good mother when she is never home and expects Jon or a nanny to raise the children while sh
