Nostalgic Sport Collectibles with Charm

Kenner's Starting Lineups were the most popular sport superstar figures among children and collectors during the late 1980s and 1990s. These figures featured professional athletes from Baseball, Hockey, Basketball, and Football. They are now impossible to find in stores and are now considered a hot commodity among die-hard collectors. These nicely detailed figures are about four to five inches in height. They can easily be found at online sites such as www.eBay.com and www.beckett.com. Some of the rarest figures can go as high as three hundred dollars in auctions, but the most sought after figure from the basketball line would obviously be NBA legend Michael Jordan. Most of them have a book value of over one hundred dollars, but tend to be worth more if they are professionally graded by the Action Figure Authority. The higher the grade, the higher the figure's value will become.

Before Todd McFarlane showcased his popular line of Sports Picks, Kenner dominated the market with their smaller and charming sport figures. These Kenner Starting Lineup figures were definitely not as detailed as McFarlane's, but were much more fun to collect due to their smaller stature. Iconic athletes such as Barry Sanders and Shaquille O'Neal were much tougher to find because of their rising popularity. During the 90s, Shaquille was considered as the next big thing in professional sports. All his merchandise was highly collectible and even had his own video game! Another popular Starting Lineup figure was Ken Griffey Jr. from the 1990s series. That figure in particular sells for around seventy dollars on the Internet because it happens to be his rookie figure as well.

My favorite Kenner Starting Lineup figure of all time would be the Michael Jordan figure from the 1992 series. It is worth over hundred dollars if it is in mint condition, but I bought it for only five dollars. The only way you can buy these valuable figures for cheap prices would be by finding them on eBay. It is best to bid on them since they go for lower prices that way. That could be the only way possible to buy them at cheap prices since hobby shops tend to sell them for high prices. All in all, I believe the Kenner Starting Lineup figures are much more fun to own that McFarlane's Sports Picks.
