Are Laura Mercier Products Worth the Price?

I am 36 years old and my skin color is light. I have a combination skin but in cold New York winters, my skin tends to dry. I break out quite often and honestly I never had great looking skin in my life.

I spent a lot of money, time and effort in my skin and I think I look younger than 36. Having said that, I also need to inform you that my skin is not flawless and it needs coverage. I need to use some kind of foundation before I put on make up. I really envy women who have flawless skin and can apply blush right away to their cheeks. I never did that but I found a way to look (almost) flawless with a few extra steps before applying my blush.

I read a lot about Laura Mercier products and a friend of mine was very happy with their tinted moisturizer. I tried the Bare Escentuals Powder Foundation and was not very happy with it and I do not know why so many people love it. After a long study of different products, I decided to buy the Flawless Face Kit in color Nude from Sephora.

I used these products and I will now evaluate these Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit products one by one.
Before I apply the below products, I make sure my face is clean. I apply my toner and my moisturizer.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
I hadn't used a foundation Primer before. I thought it was an unnecessary product. I thought a good moisturizer would be enough. This product proved me wrong. Actually Foundation Primer makes the foundation look more natural and helps the make up stay fresh for longer.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer is a gel like product. No color, no scent and it disappears as soon as I apply it to my face.

The product description says that it has vitamin A, C and E in it and it also acts as a buffer to outside effect.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
Many women love this product. It is a best seller. I like it too. I use it during the day when there is no special occasion. It doesn't have a great coverage. It is a lightweight moisturizer with SPH 20.

This product is good for women who do not need much coverage. When I need more coverage I still use my Armani foundation instead of the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage
This product works well to cover imperfections, blemishes and scars. I use it after foundation and before powder. It does have an effect. It does not create miracles bu it helps diminish the look of imperfections. It comes with its own brush which works well.

Laura Mericer Secret Concealer
This is not my favourite concealer. I know some people love this product and it sells great. For me it is just another concealer that works okay but not so great. I am never satisfied with my concealer choices. I will try the YSL Touch Eclat next time. Laura Mercier Secret Concealer is not bad but it doesn't look as natural as I want it too look. It comes with it own brush too.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
This is a good powder. It is light weight and silky. I liked it much better than the Bare Mineral Powder. Laura Mercier Setting Powder has more coverage and it complements the foundation much better. Yet it is still translucent. I think the loose powders work much better than the compact powders. They look more natural. It sets the make up and gives a mat look. I recommend it to women with oily skin.

If you have dry skin, be careful about the amount of Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder or any loose powder you use. If you use too much, it will make your skin dry. If you have dry skin, try to avoid using it around your lips and your eyes.

Laura Mercier Velour Puff that comes with this package works well with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder.

The Laura Mercier Flawless Face Kit worth the price. Laura Mercier products are better than the Bare Escentual products.I especially recommend the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. Laura Mericer Secret Concealer does not work for me, I still need to a concealer.
