Are You a Prisoner of Your Fears?

Nikki Legacy
Where do fears come from anyway?

Fears are not inborn, the are taught to you by the well-meaning authority figures who raised you and taught you their value systems. Don't believe me? How many fears does an 11-month old have? I can tell you right now that I have an 11-month-old baby boy, and I can't think of one single thing that he is afraid of. Go any where in the world and you won't find any babies who are afraid to try anything.

All fears are just illusions. I remember when I was still a child and some preacher coined the acronym - "False Evidence Appearing Real". Well, that's exactly what fear is. Most all of our fears are simply illusions of the mind_ our mind playing tricks on use, stifling us, causing us to be a prisoner of our fears.

What would happen if you feared nothing?

You'd be amazed by how dramatically your life would change when you have learned to conquer that demon called "fear". If you feared nothing, you would never use the word "impossible"; instead you would go after every dream of yours, like a baby who is determined to walk. You won't take "no" for an answer. You might fall 77 times, but you will get right back up again and keep on moving until you reach your goal. Courage is the opposite of fear, and that's the quality that you would possess if you feared nothing. You would possess insurmountable courage.

Is there a way to become fearless?

Believe it or not, there is a way that you can learn to be fearless. To be precise, though, let me clarify that it is not "fearlessness" that you should focus on; it is the honing of "courageousness". You want to be courageous like a pioneer who is not afraid to stand out in the crowd. This type of attitude will empower you with extreme confidence in yourself and what you are capable of accomplishing.

To become fearless/courageous, all you have to do is spend just a few minutes per day focusing your mind and body on the feeling that you are full of courage. You don't have to believe it at first; you don't even have to "feel" it at first. But if you persist at this for long enough, you will soon find that you indeed are filled with courage.

All you need to do is spend just 10 or 15 minutes per day focusing on you being filled with courage. Studies have proven that it is more effective to spend just a few minutes on acquiring a new habit of thought than to spend a very long amount of time on the task. So, just 10 minutes is fine. The most important thing is that you are persistent and that you do it everyday.

Your journey to fearlessness begins today.

I am a strong believer in taking "baby steps". I believe that if you take just one small initiative toward accomplishing one specific goal, and if you are persistent in your effort, then there is absolutely nothing that you cannot achieve. If you want to become fearless, all you have to do is take the first step.
