Are Quests at Neopets "Mystery Island Kitchen" Worth Completing?

Miss Fortune
There are a lot of different quests that you can do at Neopets; some of them are available to do whenever you want to and some happen as a Random Event request from a faerie. You can always hit the Faerieland Employment Agency to do up to five jobs a day and that is an excellent way to make some fast NP. The Mystery Island Kitchen is one of the places you can go to do a quest. These are timed events that ask you for two to three items and in some cases they are not worth doing because of the cost of some of the items. If you have a well stocked Safety Deposit Box you might be able to grab items from it for the quest but you never know what will be asked of you so you are taking a risk. "Chocolate Covered Kiko Popcornball" (500 NP)

"Sand Fruit Salad" (390 NP)

"Pesto Aubergines And Spicy Sauce"
"Peppermint Urgoni Cupcake"
"Squirming Salad"
"Heart Petit Fours"
"Ham and Corn Chip Sandwich"
I elected to pass on this one and let the timer run out on it. The Peppermint Urgoni Cupcake was selling for 28K, the "Ham and Corn Chip Sandwich" was a smidge over 6K and the Squirming Salad was 1,500 NP. That's way too much to spend on this type of quest when there is a chance you will get an item that is worth 500 NP or less.

You do not have to complete a quest; you can let the timer run out then go back a few hours later and do another one. I have never had luck doing more than one or two a day, it seems that the more you do per day the higher the price is on the items that you are asked for. This can be a great way to get rarer items but that is the only thing I have ever gotten; whether it gives out level-ups or health points I can't say as I have never been given those kinds of bumps when completing a quest. You really need to look at the price of the items you are being asked for and if the pay out is going to be worth it. You do not know what the prize will be so you could end up with something that is a gourmet food or something cheap that you can get for 300 NP on the Shop Wizard.
