If the fact that you have been out of high school for five, ten, fifteen or twenty years isn't shocking enough, the fact that you are probably not ready for people to see you with a few extra pounds might get you. The last time these people saw you; you likely were thinner and had more hair. Many of us peaked after high school, but if you were one of those high school beautiful people, or even if you want to spruce up a bit, there is work to be done. Or it may be a family reunion or wedding that you will be seeing old friends who might be sizing you up for how you turned out. Few people have the time to think about these things until it is too late to do much about it. Most of us are actually busy and don't have time to worry too much about people we have not seen in years. But there are two kinds of too busy to exercise kinds of people. For some people this is an excuse and for others it is actually true. If you want to go to your High School Reunion looking great, or you want to use this as a mental benchmark to give yourself a kick start towards your goals in life, some tips to make you look and feel better is a great way to get going.
First, start with some simple ideas for sprucing up your appearance, Consider general anti-aging tips. Remember, you might look good for your age, but people are mentally remembering you younger and not seeing a true change in themselves. Consider the article (anti-aging tips). Consider doing things like whitening your teeth, making sure your hair, no matter how much of it you have, is in peak condition. Consider a three day diet change with Dr. Nicholas Perricone diet that makes your skin glow and you lose that last minute weight without looking gaunt. Avoid wardrobe malfunctions that draw attention away from you and to your misbehaving underwear. Invest in Spanx - it will eliminate every lump and bump and make you look smooth and toned. Consider weight loss and if that is necessary. To lose about a pound a month, you need to shave about 110 calories a day from your diet. This might be in the form of being more conscious about how much butter on breads or how much mayonnaise on a sandwich you use. Try to measure out these portions instead of just guessing and slathering so that you are aware of how many calories you are consuming.
If you feel your career and resume is not quite up to bragging rights, consider this a good time to make the move you have been putting off. Start taking classes at night to work on your education, whether it is taking classes at the community college, beauty school classes to open your own salon, or working on your doctorate. . Work on the book you always wanted to write. Take up the hobby you played with but never seriously pursued - like painting. Most people at this reunion likely did not become multi-millionaires, (and if they did, it was likely at the sacrifice of something else) but if you are happy with where your life if going, that will show, even if your accomplishments seem small. If you raised your children and are now taking part time classes while pursuing your writing, that is a successful life, you should not feel that it is not because someone else invented something or did something fabulous or became the local weather forecaster. It is unlikely you have grossly under accomplished compared to your peers. If you are very worried that you have failed miserably in life compared to someone else, then stop living in a foreboding fear of the imaginary accomplishments of this person and just Google them and decide for yourself how awful you feel about yourself compared to that person and do something about it.
Regardless of what kind of event it is, it is not all about impressing people who may not have given you the time of day twenty years ago. There will likely be classmates that have had serious tragedies or illnesses, they are probably just happy to be alive and see people; the fact that you may have gotten delayed in your education along the way is just not that big a deal to someone who has seen the more important aspects of life. Some people who treated others badly may wish to make amends. Others may wish to tell you off for the way they perceived YOU thought of them in school. Some may have wanted to be mean and rub it in everyone's face; others may be genuinely looking forward to seeing old friends. Regardless of which category you fit into, a reunion is a good benchmark to make sure you are working towards what is important to you.

Post a CommentRomy and Michelles high school reunion was a great lesson about this. Quirky movie but one of my faves. They thought they needed to change what they were, but were most impressive when they finally showed their true selves. I graduated in a class of 16, so no reunion committee there. So i have the option of initiating a reunion when everything is perfect for me!! That is awesome! But if one was planned before that I would go, I want to see old friends.
ooh! I've skipped these every time they have come up. I'm not really ready to see "old friends"...lol
