Are Teachers Doing the Parents Job?

So What Exactly is a Teacher Supposed to Do?

Henry Palange
A teacher is paid to educate our children in a manner dictated by state and federal guidelines. As parents, it is our responsibility to raise our children. As the years pass, the role of parenting has been put onto the teachers in addition to the responsibility of educator.

Are teachers salaries fair?

Considering the role and how it has changed over the years, I think not. How important is an education to the future of our children? It does not appear teachers are in it for the money. They demonstrate an obvious passion for teaching, because they could do many other jobs and earn far more.

To be more specific they are to educate our children in the subject area of the given class. This does not include how to respect others, how to dress, or personal hygiene. As children progress through the years the complexities of teaching only grow accordingly.

Parents who do their job raising children enable all of our children to learn more in a happier environment. Considering all the facts, I would conclude teachers are severely underpaid.

What about parents?

I can hear all the teachers saying that to themselves often. The parents who do their job need to take a stand, and cause the others to step up and be a parent. Teachers spend far to much time correcting kids for things they should have been taught at home.

If you are doing your job as a parent, you should still be concerned because the others are taking away from your child's education. Not only are teachers spending time correcting behavior, but the rest of the class is distracted from the lesson.

When the right to correct students by means of a wooden paddle was lost, so was the sense of order we once cherished in our schools. There are so many steps in correction now, in a progressive manner. One time was all it took most of the time with the paddle.

I'm not advocating child abuse in any manner. The truth of the matter is children are crying out for boundaries and guidance. Many of parents look to teachers, Internet and television to provide this to their children. Kids need our time and love more than material items.

For some the occasional swat with the paddle is just what is needed to snap them out of it. Others never need this type of correction. On the other hand a few bad teachers have caused skepticism of teachers for all.

Change needs to take place for things to improve. I don't imagine being around long enough to see it, but we need to be concerned for future generations. Parents and teachers alike, one rotten apple spoils the whole bunch.

There are parents that come together to hep each other. Some have gone through what others are, and can offer advice to get through struggles parenting.
