Are You Thinking About Starting a Family?

Things People Should Know Before Becoming Parents

Tracy Smith
The first year of a child life will be around the clock care. For about the first six months the child will need to be feed every four to six hours. Diapers and formula are very expensive and the parents will get little sleep. The baby will need many diaper changes. The parent will have little time to themselves and going out and parting will have to stop. The child, sooner or later will pee upon every parent. Until baby gets used to digesting the formula, the baby will spit up on everything. Plus, at least once poo will cover the whole inside of the baby's clothes and will need to be cleaned. There will be day where it seems there is nothing you can do to make the baby stop crying. Eventually the baby will sleep through the night. Now that the parents are getting more sleep this is the time when the baby is starting to get around and into things. The whole house will need to be child proof. Everything that is possible to get into the child will find it.

Now that the child is walking they will be walking and trying their best to get in and out of everything. Children are very smart and will eventually sneak out of their cribs and playpens. Around the time the child is close to two they will take their diaper off at night and rub poo all over the wall. This is a good sign that it is time to potty train. Potty training is a fun time of child hood. There will be many accident and you asking the child why they didn't try to go to the potty. The child will look up with that innocent look and say "I don't know."

There will be many time where the parent will go without to give the child what they need and want. The parents will have to find a balance between giving a good childhood and being just plainly spoiled.

The next years will be trying to teach the child from right and wrong and helping them learn everything need to pass through school. Hopefully you will be able to keep good communications with the child. Soon the teenage years will come and the child will think that you don't know what you are talking about. Many arguments and disagreement will occur during the teenage years and if all goes well the child will graduate from high school. During that time the child will lie, get hurt, and break your heart with things they say. The child will not mean to hurt you, but they are struggling to find out who they really are.

Now they are young adults. Some will go to college and many will struggle trying to find a job that will suit them in life. The process will start all over again for the child, but you will then be the grandparent.
