Are Timeshares Good Investments?

It seems as if there is no place that you can go without seeing some type of timeshare resort. Although they many be both filled with many amenities and very appealing to the eyes, yet some people are still in doubt about them. The question lingers in the back of their minds. Are timeshares good investments or are they just a waste of time.

Most of us either know someone who owns a timeshare or we have sat down and listened to a 90 minute presentation that tried to convince us to purchase one. I personally have sat through several of those presentations. There are many different timeshares to choose from such as; Wyndham, Westgate, and Marriot only to name a few. There are those that speak negatively about timeshares mostly because they go by what they have heard and not from what they have actually experienced. At one time I too was one of those skeptics when it came to discussing anything concerning timeshares until I became an owner of one. In my opinion a timeshare is an excellent investment. Now if you are considering purchasing a timeshare it is best to purchase one that is a resale instead of one that is brand new. The only way you will truly enjoy the benefits of a timeshare is if you travel a lot. In the course of your travels if you stay in hotels the majority of the time in the long run you will spend a ridiculous amount of money. Unlike a hotel, timeshares provide you with most of the luxuries of home. Now at times the process of using your timeshare can be rather confusing. Like other things that have stringent learning curves it will become easier to understand over a period of time.

Timeshares are good investments. They provide you with some amenities that are not ready available to you at a hotel for a reasonable price. Eventually timeshares will be cost effective for people that do lots of traveling. If you are skeptical about timeshares it is best to research it for yourself instead of relying on second hand information.

Agreed... it varies widely depending on the person, but there are situations where they are good investments.
