Are You Using Your Gifts to Reach People for Christ? (Part 2)

Is Cooking a Gift from God (Part 2)

M. Cadwell (Coffee Talk Girl)
James 1:17 17 Every good gift and every perfect ( free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning

As I was writing this article the other day it suddenly occurred to me that cooking, baking and preparing food is a gift from God! It was like a revelation! I mean, it wasn't like a lightning bolt came out of the sky or an angel came down from heaven. However, I saw something that I never saw before. I realized that there was a reason for my fond childhood memories of fresh baked bread and chocolate chip cookies. There is something about cooking, baking and preparing food that's heavenly. It is like a little piece of heaven wrapped in Philo dough.

Now some of you are probably saying, I don't cook, I don't bake and Lord I can't even boil water! You know what it doesn't matter, because you do have gifts and talents that God has instilled in you. Let me encourage you if you want to find the key that unlocks the secret gifts and talents that God has given you, then get to know the giver of the gift first.

As you develop your relationship with Jesus Christ (the giver of the gifts and talents), he will reveal to you those special gifts that he has placed inside of you. He will not only reveal to you your gifts but how he wants you to use them for his kingdom. It all starts with an intimate relationship, which becomes a journey and then becomes a destiny being walked out.

If you have a relationship with someone you know things about them. However, when you have an intimate relationship with someone it is totally different. Your heart starts to open and the walls of insecurity start tumbling down. There is a trust that is earned and a bond that is formed. Jesus Christ wants to have an intimate on fire relationship with you. Jesus didn't die so that you could have another religion. Religion is man's vain attempt to reach God. Relationship is a close personal one on one relationship. A relationship that says, "Lord I can't live without you. I want you to be involved in every part of my life. I want to be all you have called me to be". In other words, a relationship is more than a Sunday morning service. It's a life lived out every single day with passion and purpose for all God has called you to be.

Without a purpose for our lives we will just go on existing but unfulfilled. Do you realize that you will never be fulfilled until you're walking in your destiny? Your destiny is more than a career change, it's a life change! It's when you make God your partner, your savior and the Lord of your life. God has a unique and special plan for your life. The first step is to make a step towards him and decide that you want to really know him. You should know that he is with you every minute of the day. You should be able to trust him with every part of your life. You should hear his voice in your heart and feel his presence flow through your spirit. It is when we invite Jesus Christ into every part of our life that he will open and reveal to us our special gifts for his purpose and his plan. Give him the most precious gift, your time, and watch what he will do in your life.

I have a dear friend that has lost most of her mobility. I told her that the gift she has is being able to pray for others. God does give us gifts. We must look for them and use them. Great set of articles Coffee Girl.

Say their godly girl. I think cooking, like anything else that helps humans, is a gift and I already know you have the gift of writing, and I think the gift of cooking can be shown to be true (our Baptist pot lucks are anything but luck). Now, for me, good luck eating what I cook. I could hurt somebody. That is not my gift, but boy can I teach to 3/4th graders (I hope to think). I love them as my own, although even these and my own children and grandchildren are only on loan to me, temporarily, from God for to God they will return. Take care & hope you have a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year dear sister in Christ Jesus. Blessings. : - )
