Are We Alone?

People have always wondered if we are the only living things in the universe. We as people are very interested in asking questions such as this and if you are like me, I truly love to ponder such things.

We have all seen the news articles and television reports of people seeing space craft, we have all seen the blurry images that people have taken of UFOs with their cameras, but does this really prove that we are not alone or does it only prove that a large number of people either have really good imaginations or they are trying to fool us? Since we really can't answer these questions, maybe we should just look at this in a different way.

While I am not a scientist, I am smart enough to understand that the universe is massive. The universe is so massive that we have no way of measuring or even knowing for sure how massive it really is. We as humans just do not have the technology to look that far into the universe to understand everything. With that said, I personally think it would be foolish to say that we are the only life form around. In fact I think it would be arrogant and very close minded to say this.

The vastness of space is so amazingly large that the possibility of life on other planets is actually more probable than not. We are just a tiny speck within our own galaxy and there are trillions of other suns within it that very well may have Earth like planets as well. I am willing to bet that there are many other civilizations out there. It is kind of like the time when men were just exploring the seas of the Earth. They didn't know what was across the sea but after exploring it they found new lands and strange people. I have a feeling it is the same with space but because of the technological advancements that we would need to travel these vast areas, it may be a very long time before we have the ability to actually find anyone else out there.

Do I believe that people from the stars are coming here and abducting people? No, and I do not believe that we are being visited by space people either. But I am open minded enough to believe that we are not the only people or living creatures out there in the vastness of the universe.
