Are We in the End Times?

Biblical prophecies have given predictions about the end of times and the things that would happen. War, disasters, famine, disease, financial ruin and the rise of an anti-Christ.

If one looks at the daily news one would think that these prophecies are coming true. Banks across the world are faulting and stock markets are crashing, natural disasters are happening at a larger and more intense scale, world famine is peaking, we are in the middle of diseases that they have no cure for (and idiots in power are trying to make chemical weapons with diseases), and last but not least war, it is breaking out all over.

United States against Iraq, maybe Iran and North Vietnam. Israel launching rockets into Gaza and starting war with Palestine. Many small nations in Africa fighting among themselves. Much uncertainty in the world.

Yes one could say all of the biblical predictions are coming true, and many churches are preaching this and drawing flocks of people and financial rewards to themselves. Can't really blame someone for trying to make a buck, especially in today's economy. Some preachers have even gone so far as to say they have spoken to God himself.

But if we look back in history, there were many times that people could have said, and did say, "We are in the end times". I am sure the new Christians who saw friends and family fed to lions, hung on crosses and suffer countless tragedies at the hands of the Romans, thought that they were in the end times.

I am sure as leprosy coursed through and claimed many lives of the 1st century this was thought to be a disease of the end times. As Rome collapsed and fighting began in the Middle East, the crusades, the fights over Jerusalem, I am sure many thought that these were signs of the end times.

As the bubonic plague (black death) hit Europe and took the lives of half the population of the time, the Catholic church did in fact call this the disease of the end times and drive many to church, with their donations and offerings for their sin in hand to ensure that they would be safe from the plague and have a place in heaven.

Even in more closer times WWI and WWII were called wars of the end times and Hitler was even called by many evangelical preachers as the anti-Christ, and many flew into the churches by the hundreds to hear the words of doom and gloom.

So throughout history we can see that many periods were thought to be the end times, and it seems that when times are bad, people seek out religion for answers.

First let me say, religion is and always has been man's attempt to reach God. God is true and pure and needs not a man in a fancy robe making an offering for you. You may go to God direct. You need no other source but yourself. You will not buy your way into redemption, nor will you buy your families way, you only make a church or institution that you give money to rich in the wealth of this world.

One biblical prediction you can count on is this; Jesus Christ said "You will not know the day or the hour" and "It will come like a thief in the night", which the motto of this that Christ is telling you is, there are no magic prophets out there who can tell you when the end times are, that you should be ready at all times because just like a thief will not announce when he is going to rob your home, neither will God announce when it is over! So be ready, don't flock to a church just when something happens.

Nine years ago, I found a way of life that helps keep me prepared for the end times no matter when it comes. I try to live my life daily by these two, principles and I will share them with you. Hopefully it can and will help you the way it has helped me.

The Great Spirit took the elders of the tribes of man, and imprinted His laws into their hearts to be taught to future generations.

Treat the Earth and all that dwell thereon with respect!

Remain close to the Great Spirit

Show great respect for your fellow beings

Work together for the benefit of all mankind!

Give assistance and kindness wherever needed

Do what you know to be right

Look after the well-being of mind and body

Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good

Be truthful and honest at all times

Take full responsibility for your actions.....

Rise to the sun and pray. Pray alone. Pray often. The great spirit will listen, if you only speak.

Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path. Who show ignorance, or conceit, and anger, remember, jealousy and greed stem from a lost soul. Pray that all will find right guidance.

Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others to make your path for you. It is your road and yours alone. Others may walk with you but no one can walk it except for you.

Treat the guests in your home with much consideration. Serve them the best food, give them the best bed and treat them with respect and honor.

Do not take what is not yours whether from a person, a community, the wilderness, or from a culture. If it was not earned nor given, it is not yours.

Respect all things that are placed upon this earth, whether it be people or plant.

Honor other people's thoughts, wishes and words. Never interrupt another or mock or rudely mimic them. Allow each person the right to personal expression.

Never speak of others in a bad way. The negative energy that you put out into the universe will multiply when it returns to you.

All persons make mistakes. And all mistakes can be forgiven.

Bad thoughts cause illness of the mind, body and spirit. practice optimism.

Children are the seeds of our future. Plant love in their hearts and water them with wisdom and life's lessons. When they grow, give them the space to grow. Avoid hurting the hearts of others. The poison of your pain will return to you.

Be truthful at all times. Honesty is the test ones will in the universe.

Keep yourself balanced. Your mental self, spiritual self, emotional self, and physical self- all need to be strong, pure and healthy. Work the body to strengthen the mind. Grow rich in spirit to cure emotional ails.

Make conscious decisions as to who you will be and how you will react. Be responsible for your own actions.

Respect the privacy and personal space of others. Do not touch the personal property of others, especially sacred or religious objects. It is forbidden.

Be true to yourself first. you cannot nurture and help others if you cannot help yourself first.

Respect others religious beliefs. Do not force your beliefs on others.

Share good fortune with others. Participate in charity......
