Are We Less Responsible of Ourselves These Days?

I must admit, that I am guilty of that. Infact, most people are guilty of it, at one time or another, sooner or later. Irresponsibility, covering up, etc. You can call it whatever you want, however, the truth still remains. We all miss our obligations and responsibility at some point. There's no need to be offended, because we all are humans. However, we should all take responsibility of those inactions too.

Even though we have the technological and electronical glitches, that we can use to our advantages, claims such as "Your email was blocked by my spam filter", "My cell-phone was bugging me so I did not receive your voice-mail", etc - we still should be responsible. Whether it is at work, or in our personal lives, we must be more responsible and be truthful, instead of covering things up with false claims.

We should have the courage to say 'no' to our children on certain occasions. We do understand that this is bound to hurt their feelings, however, we must also understand that it will make them stronger and better humans in the long run. We should own up for their misbehavior rather than siding with them, and justifying their actions. We should ask them to apologize if they mistreat someone. Parents are responsible for the children and their upbringing.

If you make a mistake, or cause a blunder at work, face it. Don't blame the other people for it, or make excuses. A truth always helps everyone to move on quicker, and resolve things more easily. A cover-up causes more confusion, for you and the other people. You'll never get fired for an honest mistake. Moreover, people tend to forgive you more easily if you own up to the mistake.

Last, but not the least, be responsible for yourself. If you are overweight, start exercising, since dieting has no positive effect alone. If you watch too much TV or browse too much of the Internet, do something different. Socialize, meet up with friends, do some housework, help your parents with their chores, or your siblings with their coursework.

Being more responsible for yourself and your actions, makes you feel better. People feel better about you, and trust you. They know that you are responsible enough, and you get to handle more responsibility. You become a good and a responsible person overall.
