Are You Wearing the Wrong Bra?

Is Your Bra the Wrong Size? 80% of Women Are Wearing the Wrong Size

Olivia Cummings
You have measured yourself to determine the proper bra size, but your bra just doesn't seem to be fitting right. There are several signs you are wearing the wrong bra and need to go to a different size in order to be more comfortable and to improve your health.

Signs you may be wearing the wrong bra and what you can do about it.

1) Sore shoulders - Loosen the straps, or select a bra with wider or padded straps. This is more of a problem for women with larger breasts.

2) Sides Bulge - Go up one band size or select a bra with a fuller cup.

3) Cups Overflow - try going up one cup size. If the problem continues go up one band size before going to another cup size.

4) Band digs into your ribs - In most cases you need a large band size, but you may just need a wider band to make it more comfortable.

5) Bra rides up in the back - tighten the bra by adjusting the eye hooks, or go to a smaller band size

6) Sagging Bust-line - Shorten the shoulder straps or select a bra with thicker fabric or a more rigid support system.

7) Straps Slip - Try tightening the strap or select a bra with wider straps - you can also opt for a bra which criss-crosses in the back

8) Under-wires pinch - Go up one cup size or try a bra which does not have an under-wire.

A bad fitting bra can cause any number of health issues. These can include a sore or tired back, skin problems, irritable bowl syndrome, constipation and breathing problems. With so much at stake it is vital to get a proper fitting bra that offers both support as well as comfort.

Sports bras which rely on compression rather than a proper fit for control are very tight fitting and studies have indicated the long term or consistent wearing of sports bras can cause circulation problems and can damage breasts tissue. Wear these bras for working out for short periods only, not for long periods and certainly not as your primary bra.
