Area Public Library Options Still Open for Birmingham Residents
Neighborhood: Birmingham
Birmingham, MI 48009
United States of America
With the fact that voters in Bloomfield Hills and Troy have voted down mileage increases for public libraries, the library options for Birmingham residents shrinks considerably. With the potential elimination of the libraries in nearby Bloomfield Hills, and Troy, do you know where you can go if you need something from a local library?

Many residents of Birmingham forget the fact that the Baldwin Public Library is located at 300 West Merrill Street. Other than that, the closest library for Birmingham residents, if the Bloomfield Hills and Troy public libraries close, would be Blair Memorial Library at 416 North Main Street in Clawson.

At this time, there are not any solid plans for increasing any kind of funding for the Baldwin Public Library in Birmingham to deal with the increased traffic that it would face if the libraries would close in neighboring cities. As with anything with politics, though, this could change at any time.
