Aretha Franklin, Thank You for Looking Your Age

S. E. Masters
Aretha Franklin appeared on The View telecast today and was as graceful a queen as any monarch. Dressed modestly in black slacks and red pea coat with a little "Betty Boop" hairdo, the 18 time Grammy Award winner was a delightful interviewee. She advised women to "get out and have fun, because men do" after a break up instead of sitting around home waiting for the phone to ring. "The phone ain't gonna ring" she said. A man that was dumped and devastated won't be out looking.

Since her recent medical condition and healthy eating decisions she looked fantastic. She was trim and looked like a very classy 69 year old woman. Apparently having work done on her face isn't in the cards. Good for you Aretha! There is nothing wrong with aging.

"No more chit-'lins and...I shop at Whole Foods. It's not the best food, but its good food" she said.

The voice was still like velvet as she sang her new single "How Long I've Waited" from her new CD entitled "Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love", and the classic "Respect" which got everyone in the studio audience onto their feet. Aretha was obviously feeling the two songs and continues to groove with commanding presence.

Ms. Franklin had words of advice for Lady Gaga. "Stay off the top of the piano" she implied.
