"Transport Systems"

Ari Gold

The new album by singer songwriter Ari Gold "Transport Systems" is a themed album about moving forward, but even more "Transport Systems" is about the music and how music is an excellent platform in which to create an environment to move forward, not just in our personal lives but as a people. Among the fast paced dance tunes of social commentary on addiction, relationships, and gender identity are some beautiful love songs rendered by Ari in his exquisite tenor voice and a few falsetto phrases.

"Transport Systems" is the fourth studio album by the New York City native. Ari has spent most of his life in front of a camera or behind a microphone. After being "discovered" while singing at his oldest brother's Bar Mitzvah, five year old Ari Gold became the child actor seen is many television commercials. Between the age of five and 14 Ari Gold appeared in over 400 ad spots; as well as, be the voice for various animated children's programs including Jem and the Cabbage Patch Kids.

Air began writing songs at age 14 and collected a BA from New York University along the way. But for the past five years independent artist Ari Gold has let his music guide his career. The first single - like many of the songs on the album - "Where the Music Takes You" is an autobiographical account of how Ari, his life, and his career have gone.

Ari's third album "Space Under Sun" was a reference to each person finding his space on the earth. With the new album "Transport Systems" now that we have found our space, it is time to move forward.

Beyond the topics on each song is the music behind those songs and Ari Gold has shown his abilities to grow, progress, and move forward. For those who listen to the whole album a surprise awaits at the end - multi Grammy winning saxophone player Dave Koz lends his talents to the beautifully penned "Love Wasn't Built in a Day". For Ari, having Dave Koz appear on this wonderful piece of music was icing on the cake.

"Transport Systems" is a collection of 14 songs, 13 of which are original songs. The only cover tune is an enhanced version of "Human" which was made popular by the group Human League. The song is enhanced in that Ari has added some lyrics to the song and it features hip hop artist Mr. Man.

While the album lists 14 songs, there is a bonus hidden track on the album - an instrumental piece where Dave Koz can again be heard. The piece is simply titled "Out".

Samples of Ari's music including the new single "Where the Music Takes You" can be heard at Ari's newly designed website www.arigold.com and at his My Space page www.myspace.com/arigoldtheartist.

Singer Ari Gold may have the same name as a character in the TV show "Entourage" but Ari Gold the singer is everything Ari Gold the TV man is not. The only common links are the name and that both are Jewish.

"Transport Systems" is an album that must be played several times to fully appreciate and enjoy. Ari uses some electronic manipulation on his albums but not to cover up any inadequacies, but to enhance the album. The music deserves its own listen ,as does the lyrics. And to fully understand the meaning of the lyrics follow along with the liner notes.

Unfortunately Ari's music receives only limited radio air play; but the music of Ari Gold is like Ari himself timeless pop and R&B that will last long after the Brat Pack of Hollywood and the major label cookie cutter artists have been long forgotten. Ari is moving forward in his music and sings to his fans about moving forward in "Transport Systems"; perhaps it is time for commercial radio and the music executives to also move forward and recognize the true talent of Ari Gold.
