There are many benefits to moving to Arizona. Some move to this state to calm the pain in arthritic joints. Others move here to get their asthma under control, as the humidity is nonexistent. Then, there are those who live here to take advantage of the many programs and resources for Autism, as they offer wonderful support to individuals living with any level of Autism.

Arizona Autism Programs and Resources for Children

One of Arizona's Autism programs and resources for children is sponsored through the state's Department of Education. The Exceptional Student Services division has a number of programs that are designed to help school aged Autistic students of all ages to maximize their full potential. The program is located in Phoenix, and if you are interested in contacting the program and receiving more information, you will need to talk with Lynn Busenbark, who is the program coordinator, by calling (602) 542-3852.

Another of Arizona's Autism programs and resources that is geared towards helping children is the Programs for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities, which is located in Phoenix. The Programs for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities works with children from age birth until two, helping them to achieve their developmental milestones and preparing them for life ahead. They will provide you with support services, referrals, and other information that will best help you and your child. If your child ages out of the program, they see to it that you are given the proper resources that will continue to help them improve. They do not just turn you lose, expecting you to just figure it out. If you have an infant who is Autistic, you will want to check out this program by contacting Diane Renne, Executive Director Interagency Coordinating Council for Infants & Toddlers at (602) 542-5577.

Arizona Autism Programs and Resources for Adults

A good program for Autistic adults is the State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. The State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency works with adults with all types of disabilities to assess their working capabilities, seeing what jobs they can best fulfill. Though the State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency helps to assess individuals with a number of disabilities, they help those with Autism also.

Then, there is the Arizona Autism Resources website. This is a wonderful resource in Arizona as it pertains to Autistic adults, as they will enable you to find Autism support groups, community workshops, Autism support services, as well as guides that enable parents to help their Autistic children smoothly transition into adulthood. If you'd like to contact the organization, feel free to visit their website and correspond with the staff. They will be more than happy to assist you.
