The Arizona Wildcats are in the 2010 Women's College World Series now thanks to wins over BYU. Arizona is the fourth team to qualify for the 2010 Women's College World Series, where games will begin to take place on Thursday, June 3rd. Arizona joined Tennessee, Washington, and Georgia as the other schools that have already qualified for the eight team field. Four additional teams will make the field of the 2010 Women's College World Series on Sunday, May 30th. It has turned into a really successful year for the SEC and the Pac-10 in Women's Softball, and it is already setting up to be a very tough field of teams vying for the 2010 Softball Championship.

BYU made it into the Tucson Super Regional as one of the surprise teams of the 64-team field. They started in the Austin Regionals, and upset Texas on their way through the first round. Texas had been the No. 7 seed in the tournament, and BYU made it into the round of 16 teams as one of only three unseeded teams do to so. They stuck with Arizona in Game 1 of the three game series on Friday, falling 2-1 in a hard fought game. Saturday wasn't as kind to BYU though, as the Arizona offense really came alive, allowing the Wildcats to put up 10 runs on the way to a 10-2 win. The victory eliminated BYU from the tournament, and made Arizona the latest team to join the 2010 Women's College World Series.

Arizona has now won all five of their games in the Softball Championship bracket, putting them on an impressive streak as they ready for the championship. They come from a very tough Pac-10 Conference out West, and even though it may seem like they have a bad seed at No. 10, they are a very well-balanced squad. Whoever has to play Arizona in the 2010 Women's College World Series is going to have a challenge in front of them, and this is an Arizona team that will be playing with a lot of confidence. The final schedule for the 2010 Women's College World Series will be set when all eight teams qualify, but the next game for Arizona will take place at some point on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010.
