Arizona Cardinals Vs San Francisco 49ers: Las Vegas Line & Pick Against the Spread

Arizona Cardinals Look to End San Francisco 49ers Season on Sour Note

Todd Jacobs
The Arizona Cardinals will head out to San Francisco with the intent of ending the San Francisco 49ers season with yet another loss January 2nd. The Arizona Cardinals defense looked like their Super Bowl version with plenty of hitting and aggressive play in their win over the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Day.

Arizona Cardinals Offense vs San Francisco 49ers Defense

John Skelton is the unlikely leader of this Arizona Cardinals offense. The Arizona Cardinals are attempting to finish strong and Skelton has shown potential under center as the thrid starting quarterback this season for the Cardinals. The rushing game for the Arizona Cardinals is still in need of work. They are averaging 86 yards per game on the ground and their pass offense numbers are not much better.

Mike Singletary is out as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and this game will be one of those games where a team is going through the motions. San Francisco is out of the NFL Playoffs and it is not the San Francisco 49ers defense's fault.

They are defending the run well by allowing 100 yards per game on the ground. Against the pass they have played well all season also. They are giving up 230 yards a game through the air. The Arizona Cardinals offense and the San Francisco 49ers defense are even and neither has the edge.

Arizona Cardinals Defense vs San Francisco 49ers Offense

The Arizona Cardinals defense has picked it up a notch to close the season and they have played with heart. The run defense is the Arizona Cardinals weakness and they have off set the weakness by stepping up their aggressive defensive style of their Super Bowl season. They are giving up 145 yards per game on the ground to opposing running backs and he Arizona Cardinals pass defense is yielding 228 yards per game though the air.

Alex Smith did not start the game against the St Louis Rams as Troy Smith took the reigns in the game against the St Louis Rams. That decision may have brought an end to Mike Singletary's tenure as the San Francisco 49ers head coach. The loss of Frank Gore did not help this floundering offense and they have failed to find a legitimate replacement. The Arizona Cardinals defense has the edge over the San Francisco 49ers offense.

Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers -7: Pick Against the Spread & Breakdown

The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook has made the San Francisco 49ers a monster seven point favorite on their home field over the Arizona Cardinals. No doubt this line will change dramatically once it is re-posted in the next day or two. Anticipate a line of four to five points in the San Francisco 49ers favor.

The San Francisco 49ers are 3-4 against the spread on their home field. The Arizona Cardinals are 3-5 against the spread on the road but they have been a tough to beat team over the last few weeks. They will be looking to close the season with a 7-9 record straight up. Take the Arizona Cardinals and the +7 points over the home team San Francisco 49ers.
