Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday (4/30/10) signed a follow-on bill to the original Arizona immigration law that was approved by Arizona legislators. This follow-on bill makes revisions to the state's sweeping law against illegal immigration.

Information regarding the details of this follow-on bill was made available in an Associated Press article updated 4/30/30 entitled: 'Ariz. Gov Signs Bill Revising New Immigration Law.'

According to the article, Gov. Brewer said in a statement: "These new statements make it crystal clear and undeniable that racial profiling is illegal, and will not be tolerated in Arizona."

Further information is given in the article regarding the organization of two referendum campaigns challenging the original law. Filing of referendum petitions by July 29 would put implementation of the legislation on hold pending a vote that would either be in November or in 2012, depending largely on when the petitions are filed.

Glad you included Mexico's immigration law with links. Mexico is very harsh with illegal immigrants. Mexico's president has been hypocritical for years regarding U.S. immigration and as far as my own opinion, his opinion shouldn't matter one iota to our government.

  • kvt15/1/2010

typical illegal criminal (that we are trying to stop) shoots police....illegal should get...well you know...but that would be illegal and criminal...oh my!!!

  • kvt15/1/2010

mary lin can you read? you are what we call annoying.
Instead of Cencus checking head counts when they go door to door they should be asking for current IRS papers, then just have the illegals pay taxes like we do. Debt solved.

I live in LA and our ahole mayor is trying to boycott Arizona. He is a racist illegal advocate. He and all the illegals in this country should be deported together. Remember a few years ago the day without a mexican boycott that failed. Everyone realized how great this country would be if millions of illegals would just go home!

  • Pat5/1/2010

Why don't people get it, being illegal is illegal. They don't want to speak english, even if they can speak english, most of them speak spanish anyways. Which is soooooo annoying. If you are in this county, speak our language, english.....

I think the big conern for Obama is if he has to travel to Arizona, and for some reason he has to prove his American citizenship, he may have a problem there.

  • Helen5/1/2010

America is not the great country it used to be. Some day is will be hit again, much worse than 9/11. Come to think of it, maybe we should let the illegals take over here. When the really big one drops, it will be them, not us, that pays the price. Maybe then they will get it. A house does have to fall on some people.
