No matter what your budget or skill level or even what your choice of scenery is you will find that in Arizona there are varied courses and facilities. In fact Arizona is a premier golf destination with different configurations and layouts across more than 300 different golf courses.
The metropolitan area of Phoenix is home to two thirds of the courses and most of the rest are in and around Tucson.
Round about all these golf courses you will find gated golf communities, golf vacation packages, golf shops and golf schools. In Arizona golf can never be out of season thanks to deep green fee discounts, resort rooms in summer and even air-conditioned golf carts.
Target courses are most consistently praised in Arizona and these can be easily found among Phoenix-Scottsdale's 200 courses, Tucson's five municipal courses and amongst the other 200 courses to be found in Arizona.
Anywhere where the sun shines in Arizona you will find the perfect golf course for your requirements. If you are wanting to play golf in a desert setting then you may want to visit Tom fazio's two Ventana Canyon courses, which are situated in the Santa Catalina foothills.
Other noted Arizonian golf courses include the Palo Duro Creek Golf Course which is in Nogales, about an hour to the south of Tucson, the Yuma Golf and Country Club, the Aspen Valley Country Club, in Flagstaff and the StoneRidge Golf Course which can be found in the Prescott Valley.
For those who are keen followers of top golfing events then come to Arizona in January/early February for the PGA Tour's FBR Open. This event us held at the TPC course at Scottsdale and is the world's best attended golf tournament.
Or be at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Dove Mountain between February 23 - March 1 2009 for the Accenture Match Play Golf Tournament.
As can be seen Arizona is the place to be for all your golfing needs. A great all round climate, great scenery, and a fantastic choice of golf courses to choose from. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or new to the sport Arizona is right for you.
