Background on the Arizona Songwriter's Association
The Arizona Songwriters Association has been inspiring Arizonans to pursue their songwriting dreams for decades! ASA President, Jon Iger, is the primary organizer for the group, with voluntary services provided by other songwriters including Gavan Wieser (band member of the "oldest punk band in the world", One Foot in the Grave), who holds a "Songs in Progress" workshop the second Tuesday every month. Jon is also Vice President of the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame.
ASA has introduced local songwriters to many publishers from music hubs such as Nashville and Los Angeles in their monthly meetings. These introductions have resulted in many successful music business partnerships. Cha ching!
The Arizona Songwriters Association Website's News section spells out the monthly meetings, events and guest publishers.

Is There a Song in Your Future?
If you have a recorded song that you would like critiqued during the event, bring it along, but be sure to also bring typed lyrics (this is mandatory!) and mark your CD and lyric sheet with your name, address, and phone number. There will be a drawing to determine which songs get critiqued in the time allowed.
If you are a singer, studio owner or other business related to songwriting, bring along cards and brochures in anticipation of possibly forging a music connection (this happens frequently where songwriters gather)!
Arizona is fortunate to have this local organization for its budding songwriting talent. The friendships and connections made by becoming a part of the Arizona Songwriters Association and Arizona's music community is fulfilling and can be financially fruitful. If you are a songwriter, or have an interest in becoming one but don't know where to start, check out this free event for a taste of what's available through the Arizona Songwriters Association!
