Arizona to Get Tougher on Greenhouse Gasses
Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano is Preparing to Get Tough when it Comes to Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Greenhouse gasses are the number one cause of global warming, which is causing the breakdown of earths ecosystems. Gasses such as carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, hydro-flouro-carbons, per-flouro-carbons, and sulfur hexafluoride are adding to the already troubling phenomenon of global warming. Gasses such as these get trapped in the atmosphere causing the radiation from the sun to accumulate close to the earths' surface instead of radiating back into space. This causes a global rise of average temperature that can lead to unbalance in the worlds environment. Such measures, which decrease the production of these gasses, are much needed in a time when the problem seems to be increasing exponentially.
Once thought to be the paranoid delusions of a handful of people, global warming has recently been proven, by the general consensus of scientists all over the world, to be a real and truly threatening problem. It is believed that if the warming trend is not stopped, or even reversed, that the world could become uninhabitable to life as we know it. A total global increase in average temperature as low as 5 degrees can have extremely detrimental effects on our world community. Many leaders of the world now agree, with the exception of our current president, that this is a problem that must be addressed and dealt with as soon as possible.
The measures that are being planned will affect power companies, factories, and even vehicle emissions. Many changes will have to be made that will cost these companies more than a little money. These increases will most likely end up trickling down to the consumer. Because of this, the proposed measures are the subject of much heated debate. Some people are worried that this will cause their utility bills to rise; however, most agree that the small increases are well worth it, if it will help us to save the already suffering planet that we all call home.
