Arkansas River Blues Society of Little Rock Announces Blues Competition, Seeks Blues Talent

The Arkansas River Blues Society, of Little Rock, will hold their annual Blues Competition on October 29. 2011 at the Parrot Beach Cafe. Located at 9611 Mac Arthur Drive in North Little Rock, the one-day competition will be an all-day challenge on Saturday. Blues bands and Solo/Duo acts interested in competing for the Arkansas River Blues Society's sponsorship to the Blues Foundation's 2012 International Blues Challenge (held in Memphis, Tennessee) must have their official entry packets submitted/postmarked no later than October 8, 2011. Entry fees are $60 for Band, $30 for a Duo, and $20 for a Solo.

Winners from each category must participate in all International Blues Challenge-related fundraisers sponsored by the Arkansas River Blues Society. The Society cannot guarantee all expenses will be paid and will not make the winner's room reservations upon advancing to compete in the International Blues Challenge.

The Blues Foundation's 2012 International Blues Challenge will take place in Memphis, TN from January 31-February 4, 2012.
