Arlene is a waitress at Merlotte's and Terry is a cook with a painful past in the war. Together they make a cute couple and you can be them for Halloween. This article will tell you what you need to buy and how to put the costumes together.
Arlene Fowler True Blood Halloween Costume:
What you'll need:
Red long haired wig (like the one here)
White Merlotte's shirt (HBO sells the shirt here or you can make your own by buying a plain white t-shirt and using permanent markers to draw the Merlotte's in the corner)
Small cross necklace (like this one)
Short black skirt or shorts
Green half apron (HBO sells one at this link)
Watch (you don't need to get it down exact, wear any watch you have)
Earrings (something a little dangly such as the ones here)
White bracelet (Arlene wore a white bracelet in one of the later episodes of season three, any will do, example of one that would work at this link)
Hair clip
White or black sneakers
White socks
Dark eyeliner
Smoky eye shadow
Pink lipstick
Order pad (optional)
Pen (optional)
Putting it together:
First put on your makeup. You don't want to take the chance that you'll get any make up on your clothing. Start with the smoky eye shadow, move into the eyeliner and then the lipstick. If you watch past episodes of True Blood, you'll notice that Arlene favors pink lipstick, whether it's a light or darker pink.
Now that your makeup is all set, get dressed in your clothing. That includes your shirt, skirt or shorts, socks and shoes. Now carefully tie on your apron.
The next stop is to put on your jewelry. Wear your watch on your right wrist and the bracelet on your left wrist. Put on your necklace. Leave your earrings until you have your wig on. This ensures they won't tangle in your hair as you're trying to put the wig on.
Carefully put on your wig so that it fits just right. Use bobby pins that blend in or hair gel if you don't mind using it on your wig to part your bangs in the middle. Grab your hair clip and pull some of it back. You still want it hanging down in the front, just slightly less. Now that your wig is in place, you can put on your earrings.
If you want props, have an order pad and pen in your hand throughout the night. When you get tired of holding it, put it into your apron.
Terry Bellefleur True Blood Halloween Costume:
What you'll need:
Dirty blond wig (similar to this one. It's OK if it's off a bit from Terry's as you may not be able to find his exact color and style)
Blond beard/mustache (you can buy fake beards at a Halloween store but if you already have a beard/mustache, you buy a dye to dye it blond here)
T-shirt (in a color of your choice but try to go for a dark color or grey)
Blue jeans
Boots (or black sneakers)
White apron (you can buy one here)
Spatula (optional)
Putting it together:
Becoming Terry Bellefleur is remarkably easy. Get dressed in your t-shirt, pull on your jeans and boots. Now put your white apron on.
Carefully put on your wig and run your fingers through it to try to get Terry's look. Now you can apply your beard/mustache.
If you want a prop, carry a spatula in your hand (as if you were flipping meat on the grill at Merlotte's). If your apron has pockets, put it in one slot. Now that you're Terry you'll want to have a slightly crazy, wounded yet protective look to you. Trust me, it works. Terry is one loveable guy though a little nutty.
