Arman's "They Wouldn't Let Me Play at Carnegie Hall" now on display at Pratt University
Neighborhood: Clinton Hill
Brooklyn, NY 10125
United States of America
If you didn't already know, one of the best art collections on any university or college campus in all of the U.S. is right here in Clinton Hill at Pratt University. And if you like Arman's sculptural artistry, taking everyday objects and sculpting them into extraordinary everyday objects of art, then cut a path to Pratt Institute, where next to the its library you can see half of "Arman's Orchestra," the 47" by 96" by 65" bronze cast broken piano sculpture, "Accord Final." I prefer what it's also known as, "They Wouldn't Let Me Play at Carnegie Hall," since it much better depicts the piece and, ironically, it's now on display in Brooklyn and not in Manhattan.

It's on loan from his longtime collaborator and widow, Corice Arman, who herself is a great supporter, promoter, collector and educator of arts.
