Army Wives, Season 3, Episode 12- First Response

This is a recap of Lifetime's Army Wives Season 3, Episode 12 - First Response.

The scene starts off with the ambulances coming, and Denise standing by Claudia Joy's side with Claudia Joy's arm bloody, raised in the air and wrapped, telling her to hang in there. The EMT's tell Denise they can take it from here, Denise relunctant with tears in her eyes says to the emt ,she's my best friend.

General Michael Holden gets the phone call, when he and Emmalin arrive at the hospital they are told by Dr. Spencer that Claudia Joy has a mild concussion, and has an arterial laceration to the wrist that required stitches, that could lead to problems of circulation to the fingers. The Dr tells Michael they are keeping Claudia Joy in the hospital over night for observation.

Michael asks Emmalin to take Denise home. Denise is in the waiting area. And shouldn't be left alone because Frank (her husband) is in DC.
Denise is shooken up, but only has mild bruises and cuts.

Michael approaches an EMT , and asks were you the one at the rt 12 accident? The EMT says yes, Michael thanks him, the EMT in turn says thank her and points to Denise, she's a hell of a nurse, that Denise saved her and stopped the bleeding and that the story could have ended totally different if she hadn't done what she did. You see the look of guilt on Michael's face for not liking Denise and giving her such a hard time for the affair she had, for not giving her a chance.

Claudia Joy is released the next day , Dr Spencer tells her and Michael, that she has an appointment with her Doctor tomorrow, because her blood panel showed high glucose levels, asks her to see an eye doctor because of the blurry vision she had when she got in the accident. Claudia Joy says my eyes are fine, Michael says we will.

Claudia Joy is laying in bed at home, and tells Michael that when she was in the ambulance she could only think of them, how much she had to live for, and thinking about all we've been through.

Roland, Roxy, Denise,and Pamela come to see Claudia Joy. Asks her what happened and Claudia Joys says that it all happened so fast and wasn't sure what happened. She was upset that her friends made such a fuss over her by bringing her chili, lasagna for dinner.

Michael shows at Denise's house, tells her I know we have had our differences, and tells Denise thank you for saving Claudia Joy, I think I owe you an apology. Denise says he doesn't, I don't blame you for feeling the way you did, and Michael tells her you are welcome in our home any time.

Emmalin is brushing Claudia Joy's hair. Claudia Joy has 14 stitches and tells her daughter she doesn't have to go with her to the doctor appointment because she will be there all day. Emmalin says it sounds serious, and Claudia Joy responds they are just checking levels in my blood, you have good genes. I have never been sick a day in my life.

General Holden thanks Roland's wife Joan for covering for him while his wife was in the hospital, and says there is no accounting for life. Soldiers are always in harms way, but that every one is vulnerable, every minute of every day. It can change on a dime.

Claudia Joy's doctor tells her that her glucose is not good and that she has Type 2 Diabetes, asked her if she has been over tired, thirsty all the time, had blurry vision. Claudia Joy is in shock, and in disbelief and says I am healthy I exercise, I am not overweight, the test is wrong. She demands to take the test again, a better test for diabetes an A1C. The only history of diabetes was her Grandmother who was overweight.

Michael and Claudia Joy are sitting in the doctor's office, and Michael asks how is that possible? when the second test confirmed type 2 diabetes. The doctor explains to them this this is a serious disease and can hit anybody even if you are not overweight, that it can lead to blindness, kidney failure and amputations. The doctor advises them she wants to start Claudia Joy on insulin therapy, and will have to train them both on administering shots, and will discuss diet. The doctor leaves the room, and Claudia Joy breaks down hugging Michael, sobbing uncontrollably.

Also in this episode Finn, Roxy and Trevor's son has his first day of genius school. Trevor returns from Recruiter school, and his boys are telling him about their day, TJ gets mad for all the attention Finn is getting and pushes him, and runs to his room. Roxy believes it is sibling rivalry.

Finn goes to a friends house for a play date, Byron a kid from his new school's nanny picks him up at their house. Trevor approaches TJ, who is sulking on the couch and asks him if he wants to go to his secret fishing spot. TJ is excited.

They go fishing and Trevor tells him that this is where he goes to think and clear his head. Trevor tells him about Fred this big fish he once almost caught but broke loose and that maybe he could catch him.
They catch alot of fish and Trevor tells TJ he is a fish magnet.

Roxy goes to pick up Finn at a gated mansion. Finn asks are we poor? Roxy asks him why he thinks that , and Finn says well Byron has a pool, a tv in his room and trampoline. Roxy explains that they have plenty of stuff, a roof over their head, food on the table and most importantly each other. Finn says we are not poor but I'd still like a swimming pool.

They go home and eat, TJ is all happy now about their secret fishing hole, Finn asks if he can go, and Trevor says when you are older.

Denise and Frank's son Jeremy who is in Iraq, was talking to a friend about family, and going home in two weeks, and a bomb goes off. A friend ends up hurt in the leg, one of Jeremy's friends states if something happens to me will you call my parents? Jeremy says I'm not discussing this and storms away. He calls his mother to hear her voice because he is shaken by what just happened. Denise tells him she can't wait for the family to be back together again. That your father bought a Harley and tells him to hurry up and come home.
