If you are looking for a way to spice up a guild meeting, wedding the net toss this is the way to go. Here are some tips for planning a successful net toss.

Plan ahead

The more nets you have, the more intense the event will be. Cast in multiple nets to keep the action going strong. Getting fishing nets takes time, especially if you fish them up yourself. A good rule of thumb is have10 regular nets plus one ancient net for each guest.

Regular fishing nets are cheap and easy to get and on most shards you can buy one for about 1,000 gold pieces from player vendors. Fabled fishing nets are more difficult to obtain but if you have a grandmaster fisher you will find them in about 1 out of every 40 Messages in a Bottle.

You will want to include fabled fishing nets in your net toss so that your guests can also battle the leviathan and have a chance at getting rare artifacts. If you are advertising your event to the public, you will want to post on forums and in your shard news at least a week or two in advance. Put your friends and guild mates to work helping you get enough nets to make a killer event.

Picking a location

If you use the dock in Buccaneer's Den your guests can use the greater dragon against the leviathan. If you want to ramp up the challenge and limit the use of pets, consider taking your event out into deep water. Another way to make the net toss more challenging is to hold it at the Magencia pier so that your guests will also have to fight the ghosts that inhabit the town.

Running the Event

Pace the net toss to keep the action going strong but be careful not to overwhelm your guests. As players we are more powerful than ever thanks to greater dragons, custom armor and weapons and artifacts. Sea Serpents and elementals are not likely to kill anyone. A leviathan can be quite deadly due to its hit point based water ball attack. You may wish to have someone on healing and resurrection duty during your event.

Rewards and loot

Artifacts from the leviathan will go directly into the backpacks of your guests just like paragon artifacts. The higher the luck, the greater the chances are that your guest will win an item. Make sure that people loot the sea serpents that spawn because they have a chance to drop more fishing nets and messages in a bottle as loot.
