Art is Beauty

Allana Calhoun
A feeling stirs within one
as one's eyes take in the beauty
The beauty of art.

Art is the means
to relate beauty and feeling
to those who can't see it on their own.

Through other's work
these blind people see
the beauty of the world around them.

It is good that beauty
cannot be seen by all
who have eyes.

For if everyone could see
beauty on their own
what would art be?

Great piece! I don't think I could tell a real good piece of art from a not so great...well thats not exactly true, b/c I think beautiful is relative to what you are looking for. And I guess you can just applaud an artists efforts even if you can not totally see where they were getting at. Art is a bit of a risk and much like anything beautiful complicated. I truly believe that writers, such as yourself, and other types of artist will a powerful instrument in their hands...through you the world has a glimpse of the potential in our very own hands.
