Probiotics/Prebiotics is crucial for young puppies since they are preparing to transition from mother's milk to dog food. Most of a puppy's growth occurs in the first 6 months. On the average, a puppy will gain 20 grams per day. After 10 months it will have multiplied its birth weight by 20 times and a proper ratio of protein, fat, vitamins and minerals must be provided to deal with the rapid growth rate. Small breed dogs and puppies have a very limited capacity to digest starch. Therefore, a diet consisting of low starch and high meat protein is crucial for them.

Recognizing this special nutritional need, we have formulated Small Breed food with seven different sources of protein. In addition, we have utilized fresh fruits and vegetables to replace hard to digest grains, thus lowering the starch content. The proper nutritional balance helps puppies transition into healthy adults and enables adults to stay healthy.
