Artificial Human Sperm

Genetic scientists at the University of Goettingen in Germany were able to create artificial human sperm from stem cells, according to the New York Post. The team stated that the sperm, which was grown in a lab, may lead to future treatments for people who are infertile, but will not be used to create human babies and will not mean the "end of men." The technique was first developed to enable men with no sperm, such as those suffering from cancer, for example, to father children. This could definitely help a lot of men to finally have the kids they want with the women in their lives.

And, a more distant possibility is the creation of sperm from a woman's cells, allowing a lesbian couple to have a child. Many of questions arise when it comes to mind of the future of these experiments. Scientists at the Reproductive Genetics Institute in Chicago are already testing the technique and expect to have it available to lesbian couples within two years, reports The Sunday Times. How would the religions of the world feel? Science is always evolving and ever new daily.

According to the British scientists, if further tests can demonstrate that the lab-grown sperm are indeed identical to the natural kind, they might be helpful in understanding male infertility. I have always believed that science has been one the very best indicators of relevant study and speculation of facts in life. It can be the ultimate achievement of new and upcoming future breakthroughs. So just knowing that the creation of life is in itself a remarkable feat of science. Infertility affects 7.3 million couples in the United States, according to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

This new scientific achievement should help the world progress forward into a better tomorrow. Most people will not understand this new scientific feat and will put it down before they ever get a chance to understand and accept it. What about you? What do you think about this new scientific achievement?

The fact of the matter is that anything that can benefit the human race should go a long way in our progression of science and technology. Why hold back on things that can benefit us and help infertile couple that are not able to produce the one thing that they most desire and want in their lives.

We only live once and we should be able to do things that we need to do. With this new help, it should go a long way in our progression as human beings in this world.
