DK was born and raised in Malaysia. He has also worked in Melborne Australia. He is 25 years old with a birthday coming up on September 1st.
DK doesn't remember when he first started drawing, however his parents sent him to drawing lessons around the age of 7. Although, he didn't particularly like that class.
He was inspired to be an artist because someone once told him his drawings were ugly and now he chooses to prove them wrong. He works best in his home. He loves to create cute and funny drawings, artworks that make people smile and monsters in their cute form.
He is driven to be an artist due to the fact that he wants to bring others happiness using art. He always tries to be funny and quirky. His favorite thing to work with is pencils, paper and computers.
He is currently working on free logo designs for his friends. He does this for free because he gets the chance to learn and experience the process.
He doesn't have any favorite artist in particular. He tries not to limit himself to who he likes. He would rather just enjoy those who put forth effort and enjoy what they are doing.
Although Dk is an artist, he is only a hobby artist. He loves science subjects as much as he does art and design. He has done engineering in Uni. He is currently working as a Product Design Engineer which is a combination of both of his loves, design and engineering.
His favorite thing about being an artist is the fact that all he needs is some creativity to produce interesting artwork.
He can't think of anything that he doesn't like about being an artist.
When asked if he has ever wanted to quit or give up he states, "Art is a part of life. We see it everyday everywhere. It is impossible for anyone to give up art."
In DK's spare time he likes to watch TV and movies, listen to music, cook and spend time with his significant other.
When asked his viewpoint on the use of his art and the Internet he states, "As long as it is credited, anybody can use my art."
DK's message to children is to find joy in everything you do and find a reason to love what you are doing. Everything is hard at the beginning, but once you have found joy and reason, you will love the challenge.
His message to aspiring artists is that many amateurs think that they will never be as good as other professional artists. A simple sketch on scrap paper could be as good as other professional artwork. All you need is your own style and creativity.
DK does accept commissions and would be happy to hear from you. He does not currently sell any of his work.
You can view his art on Deviantart and Flickr.
His message to our viewers is thank you for reading the interview and thank you Mary for interviewing me. Be happy always!
