Date of Interview: 6/12/2009
Today's artist spotlight is Debora Aguelo who is a fantastic artist from Spain. She is 25 and her birthday is November 25th. She generally goes by the nickname of Deb or Debbie, however on the Internet she uses Nabey or Nabooru.

Debora has drawn ever since she could hold a pencil which was around the age of 1 when she did her first drawing. She was inspired to become an artist by her curiosity for the human features and personality and she wanted to capture this in her drawings.

She draws mainly as a hobby, however she does make money from it. She works best in her home, in her own room and of course she loves to draw people. She is currently working on a project for a novel as well as a few commissions. She would like to try new material for her drawings in the future. Her favorite mediums to work with are pencils and pastels, however she would like to try some new mediums in the future as well.

She has studied in Technical Engineering for Industrial Design, however at this time she is not working.

Her favorite thing about being an artist is that she can create whatever she has on her mind and she has a lot of fun doing that.

Her least favorite thing about being an artist is that she hasn't been able to make a living out of it yet.

Debora has never wanted to give up, however she has encountered artist blocks where she just couldn't put herself into drawing anything. She knows that she will eventually come out of it and start drawing again, which is what keeps her going.

Debora's message to children is to do something that makes you happy.

Debora's message to aspiring artists is to be patient and practice a lot. Anyone who wants to be a drawer, painter, artist, etc can manage it if they have patience. Enjoy what you do as this is the most important thing about being an artist.

In her spare time she enjoyes listening to music, reading books, watching movies and working out.

Debora is inspired by artist such as M.C. Escher for his impossible drawings, mixed perspectives and believes he is quite a genius. She also loves Antonio Lopez's work because of the the realism he creates in his work. She is also inspired by artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Goya Gaudi, El Greco, Alan Lee, J.D. Hillberry, Armin Mersmann and many more.

When asked her viewpoint on her images and using them on the Internet she states, "If it's properly credited and nobody makes money out of it, I think it's alright. I allow usage of some of my work, as long as I'm properly credited."

Debora's art can be viewed on Deviantart as well as Stars Portraits.

Debora does accept commissions at this time. Her art is also available as prints of her drawings. She generally doesn't sell the originals but would consider it. The prices for her art depend on the size. In general, a drawing on size A4 paper would run around $50-75.

Her message to the readers of this article is to enjoy her art.

Thank you Debora for doing the interview. I hope you all have enjoyed reading about this fantastic artist and will go to her site and view her works.
