ArtsRoundUp - the Antelope Valley Art Scene: Quartz Hill, Lancaster, Palmdale & the Lakes

The month of October was a very lively one for arts in the Antelope Valley.

In Quartz Hill there was a gallery opening at Sagebrush Café as well as a Playwright's Expo put on by the Antelope Valley Thespians. The annual WingDing Celebration took place in downtown Quartz Hill as well.

Downtown Lancaster had its share of action too with a new gallery show opening at the Lofts Gallery on Lancaster BLVD, and the opening of a new show at the Lancaster Museum and Gallery, and one at the Cedar Arts Center. All this in addition to the Antelope Valley air show and the Lancaster street race.

While the one day events of October are over, the arts continue. Missing the opening doesn't mean you've missed the show. Lucky for you.

The arts are alive in the Antelope Valley. A visit to one of these shows will prove it. Visits to all of the shows will leave absolutely no room for doubt.

Many local residents are surprised and excited to see new venues for the arts opening up around town already putting on successful and diverse shows. Artists have new opportunities to connect with an audience and bring their work into showcase spaces. That means that all of us who are interested in the enrichment and stimulation that art can bring have new opportunities too.

Continuing its transition into a true-to-form art museum, the LMAG is presenting exciting art works of various mediums beginning at the end of the month. Help support the museum and check out the works of four young talents of Antelope Valley art:

The 4 Under 40 show features four local artists under the age of 40: Sarah Donaldson, Larissa Nickel, Nicolas Shake and Laurel Jean Siler.

Sagebrush Café is hosting its fourth gallery show in seven months and once again presents a fresh take on art, what it can be, and how it can speak to us. Artist Steven Fiche creates a fantastic and intricate world in his art that surprises the viewer with its similarities to our own world:
