As I Awoke This Morning

As I awoke this morning almost falling over the dog
He lay there immobile, static like a log
Some days I think why don't we have a cat
For all he would do is lay upon a mat

As my morning slowly commences I overdose on caffeine, ah coffee
You are so good to me, much better than tea don't you agree?
I think I need some breakfast, some sustenance something to last
Sausages and bacon, now that's better than to fast

I switch on the TV, or would if I could find the remote
I settle for the radio, to what station should I devote?
The remote, I've located it's inside the dog, oh god
Now whenever I rub his belly the channel changes, now that's odd!
