As Destiny Unfolds

Teri Bethel
"...Even the barren has borne seven..." (1 Samuel 2:5).

Last night
Tears drenched my
Pillow once more.
Heart wrenching
Cries to God
I implored.

Brilliant dreams
Of children filling
Our home;
Seemed distant,
Empty,
Almost ignored.

Before
I was sent to
My mother's womb;
You formed and
Kept me, not releasing
Me too soon.

Your plans
For my life
Were great- a success.
You are sovereign Lord;
You always
Know what's best.

Help me
To understand, Lord,
I need you today.
Strengthen me,
Keep me; from your
Grace I'll never stray.

The love that now
Fills me,
Brims to the top.
Enable me
To share it-
Let its flow never stop.

No more shall I
Quench love, with so
Many on the street,
Whose tender hearts are bruised,
Weeping for a mother
They may never meet.

Should you favor me, Lord,
To carry one whom
Heaven now holds.
May I nurture him
As you would;
While his destiny unfolds.
