I've attached my heart to yours
Parting you take a piece of me with you

I find myself at a loss for words
Trying to convey my angst to you

You take my best friend with you
The one in which I can confide

A portion of my confidence wanes
Missing the encouragement you've supplied

Begrudgingly I open the door for you to leave
As it shuts it rattles and shakes me inside
As you go
I collapse consumed with grief now seen
Feelings I've worked so hard to hide
As you go
I hear loneliness beckoning me
Telling me now I'm all by myself
As you go
Watching your outline grow smaller
Tears fall and can't be helped
As you go
It's difficult to even look you in the eye
Your leaving I would never choose
As you go
This place inside my heart belongs to you
Be assured no one can fill your shoes
As you go
I'm excited for your future prospects
Understanding you must leave me behind

The love held for you will never diminish

Sad, but the understood sacrifice is always rewarding.
I know this feeling all too well... It's hard to say goodbye to someone that you love, even when they are embarking on a new and exciting journey. Nicely done!
