As He Promised

Long ago, upon a Holy and a Silent night
The Star! Oh, how it shined, so very bright
It shined bright! So, brightly as it led the way
It led the way! Directly to where He lay

The King of kings, the King of men, has born
He brought hope to all on this Special
Christmas Morn

He grew and grew; the Baby now a Man
He healed the sick; with a powerful,
loving, hand

So, to the world, to the world
He taught His Fathers commandments
He taught peace! He taught love, and
how to understand
Oh, so many, they did not understand

They took the Son of God
They nailed Him to the cross
They crucified Him
They crucified the Son of God

Now, Jesus Christ, His blood spilled from the cross
His dear mother, she stood crying, near cross
And His disciples, they stood there, by her side
In agony, they watched as Jesus died

Suddenly! Darkness was all around!
A strong earthquake! It shook the solid ground
As darkness, still lingered all around

And the earth, the earth, it did shake!
It was a strong, a fierce and a powerful quake!

The angel came, he rolled the stone away
As He promised, JESUS arose upon the third day.
