We've all done it. You're sitting there early in the morning with nothing else to watch but infomercials. The next thing you know, you find yourself wanting the latest gadget that promises to make your diet easier. Are these products true to their claims or are they a waste of money? In most cases, you're just wasting your money, hoping for quick results that never come. The following are the most common as seen on TV items that dieters waste money on.

Fitness Equipment

It can be so tempting to order the latest fitness equipment that promises to make you look sexy in 5 minutes or less per day. Who wouldn't want a 5 minute workout? The truth is though many of these fitness machines are too good to be true. If you read the fine print, you'll find that most also require a strict diet as well as the workout. What does that really mean? It means that you could stick with the diet and some other cheaper form of exercise and get the same results. Even if the fitness equipment is as good as it claims, as seen on TV fitness equipment is usually a waste of money because many dieters simply don't use it. They use the equipment a few times and then it starts to collect dust. The next time you seen an as seen on TV fitness machine you've just got to have, try it out before you buy it. Chances are you'll change your mind.

Diet Plans

Another as seen on TV item that gets dieters spending their hard earned money is diet plans. We are all intrigued by the idea of an easy diet plan that allows you to eat all your favorite foods and still lose weight. These diet plans usually promise inside secrets to some magical super food that will quickly flush away the fat from your favorite foods. Another popular gimmick is diet plans that promise personalized plans based on your body type. Unless you're paying for a personal dietitian, you're not going to get a diet plan that gives you exactly what you need. It's just not that simple. Don't waste your money on these expensive gimmicks. Stick with tried and true diet plans, such as counting calories.

Exercise Videos

Lastly, dieters are drawn to exercise videos that make losing weight look easy. You're sitting there watching the commercial, seeing women go from flabby to toned and you just can't resist. With many of these videos, it pays to read the fine print. Many times, you'll see disclosures that state that the results achieved by these users aren't typical. In other words, there's a good chance you will not see the same results. If you're interesting in learning new exercise techniques through video, go online. There are many websites devoted to fitness that feature videos and many fitness videos can also be found on YouTube.
