Answers to this would be no, no, and no. However, something very unusual is brewing behind the scenes in the post health care bill war.
On one side of the political ring extremists against the health care bill are said to be throwing some serious brick action with messages attached. According to MSNBC a brick crashed into a window, damaging the executive director of the Sedwick County Democratic Party in Kansas, Lyndsay Stauble's desk. The markings on the bricks read "No to Obama", "No Obomycare." Obomycare?
The same brickisodes occurred in New York and Arizona during the health care bill threats. By the time the week is over with the extremists would have thrown enough bricks to build a house. Many say save the bricks, toss in tea bags. Hopefully the Dems would be smart enough to place hot water in cups along the floors and desks.
Then there's the gang who couldn't map straight finding themselves at the wrong house, a brother's home of U.S. Representative Tom Perriello. After slicing a propane line of a grill they left a nasty letter behind that is now a part of an investigation. And if that isn't bad enough, oh Stupak might as well plan for a long week ahead.
Unplug that phone Stupak, otherwise thought of as the man who sealed the deal on the health care bill. You may want to avoid incoming phone calls. Calls came in with "I hope you die", "There are millions of people across the country that wish you were ill", and other discomforting calls along with a fax "Defecating on Stupak." Now this was not your average hate fax folks. It comes with a photo of "Bart (SS) Stupak" with a noose including a note about baby killers and the hand of man and God.
Yes, I am against the health care bill but not enough to waltz over to the North Carolina's governor's mansion with a pitchfork and torch. With my luck someone would ask me to clean up their yard or to light their smoke.
However, and I use that term looser than a hooker in the red light district, to sit back and just allow the health care bill to slide by without as much as a fist hitting the wall is just as hard as becoming interested in Joe Biden's f-bomb.
Threats have been unfolding all year round over the health care bill. Take North Carolina for instance. Representative Brad Miller (D-NC) has received a death threat in August of 2009 over his support in health care reform. So why is everyone surprised when a ton of bricks come crashing through windows, propane lines are cut, and phones call including fax messages turn ugly?
Because one day a brick could hit the wrong man in the head causing irreversible damage, the propane cut could explode injuring or killing a neighbor, and the phones calls and fax messages could offend the maid.
So, as the world turns, against the health care bill supporters, remember that America has the golden chance to turn things around without investing in bricks or cutters, without wasting time dialing, but to vote in 2012. All we have to worry about right now is if the election will be fixed. But then again, there is such thing as plexiglass, stoves, and phone jacks.

Post a CommentI'm just as disgusted with the winning side continuing to incite the incidents. They are BOTH wrong and I'm sick of both sides.
Well written article.
I'm with Jaipi!
Violence is never the best solution. I'm on the other side of the fence on this one. But I'm glad to know there are people on the opposing side who see the violence and complaining is pointless, especially since the bill has already passed. This has been a long and troubled battle that should have been two sides working together on a compromise. Just like all politics. That's why I've never been involved in conventional politics. To me it seems more like a bunch of little kids fighting over their favorite toy. Neither side seems willing to give an inch. It's truly time to change the whole way we do things in this country. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. Too many people on both sides of the argument, unwilling to work together.
Making light of these dangerous acts is reprehensible.
Well written piece..I am diggin' your commentary ;-) I certainly do not condone these acts..they only hurt the cause...and the blatant illegality overshadows the subtle but larger crimes perpetrated by these officials. We can replace a window..but it's hard to replace our Freedoms...
Good one and I agree totally. We don't need bricks to bring down the real change. We need to vote. Cheers :)
