Asbury Computer Rankings - College Football Week 9

Andre Asbury
There were few surprises this week near the top of the rankings. All the unbeatens took care of business without any problem. Texas and Iowa flip-flopped in the 1 ans 2 spots after Texas dominated Oklahoma State and Iowa struggled for 3 quarters against Indiana. Florida and Alabama flop-flopped at 3 and 4 after Florida rolled over Georgia. Oregon moved up to number 5 in my computer after a convincing performance against USC.

Georgia Tech had another wild high scoring affair at Vanderbilt. The Jackets' defense is having problems this year but the offense has been able to compsensate for the defense so far. Vandy is a weak team but still putting up 597 yards is impressive. I'd love to see them play a top-notch defense like Florida or Alabama in a bowl game. That is highly unlikely to happen unless no SEC team gets in the national championship but sends 2 team to the Sugar and one the Orange Bowl, which has the first at-large selection. It's hard to imagine a scenario where that would occur.

Here are the new rankings after 9 weeks of play:
